Photoshop. #1 . Restoring old photo's

  1. FIRST  saving photoshop as png for uploading to blog


1 Find an old photo that's black and white for restoration. 

2 Do not use the one in the tutorial.  Search for old photo's or civil war photo's etc...  Or use the link below.   Put the before and after photo's on your blog. 

3 Restore it!

4 Post the original and the restored photo.

Self Portrait.


Please check powerschool.  All assignments have been graded.  I had to look for some that didn't show up in my reader so there may still be some hiding.  Let me know if I have missed anything.  

Self Portrait

That's right.  
1.   Take a pic with your phone or the computer of your face.   Copy and paste it into illustrator.  
Start tracing using the pen tool and brush/pencil if desired.   

2.   Close your lines

3.   Command +    to  Make the pic giant.    Trace slowly and carefully. 

4.   Color it in.   

Weeeeeeeeeeeee.   Fun!

Choose one cartoon to duplicate with the pen tool.

This is a big project.  15 points instead of 10 points.  You can earn up to 5 extra credit points if you also do the background.  When you start your new project make sure it is in inches and that the orientation is correct.  i.e.  horizontal or vertical.  Click on one image and copy and paste it onto your templet.  Create a new layer and lock layer one.  USE THE PEN TOOL.

Photo to Drawing assingment

  1. Take a photo of any object on campus using your phone
  2. Send it to yourself via email
  3. Open the picture in Illustrator
  4. Lock that layer
  5. Create a new layer 
  6. Trace the object using the pen tool or brushes.  (Your Choice)
  7. Make to live paint and color it in
  8. Post the original and the your rendition to your blog!
